JACKSONVILLE, N.C. – The U.S. Department of Labor has recognized the Stanadyne Jacksonville plant as one of the record-breaking 887 recipients of the 2025 HIRE Vets Medallion Award.
The local Stanadyne facility earned the highest platinum award. The Honoring Investments in Recruiting and Employing American Military Veterans Act (HIRE Vets Act) Medallion Award Program is the only federal award program that recognizes employers who successfully recruit, hire, and retain veterans.
“This award reflects Stanadyne’s intentional and sustained commitment to recruiting, hiring, and retaining veterans and their dependents,” said Lori Ready-DiGiovanni, Human Resources Manager at Stanadyne. “We actively partner with local veteran-focused organizations, participate in military and veteran job fairs, and translate military experience into meaningful manufacturing and technical career pathways, supported by onboarding and development practices designed for long-term success.”
“Veterans strengthen our Jacksonville team through their leadership, accountability, and mission-driven mindset,” she said. “Their contributions elevate our safety culture, teamwork, and operational excellence every day.”
Stanadyne joins 886 other companies from 48 states, plus the District of Columbia, Guam and Puerto Rico, who have shown a commitment to hiring veterans, but also ensuring that they have a long-term career and growth plan that uses the diverse skills they acquired through their military service.
Recipients of the 2025 HIRE Vets Medallion Award meet rigorous employment and veteran integration assistance criteria, including veteran hiring and retention percentages; availability of veteran-specific resources; leadership programming for veterans; dedicated human resource efforts; pay compensation and tuition assistance programs for veterans.
“Veterans bring a strong sense of leadership, accountability, and adaptability shaped by high-expectation, mission-driven environments,” said Ready-DiGiovanni. “Their experience strengthens teamwork, reinforces operational discipline, and elevates our safety and reliability standards, contributing directly to a culture of excellence and continuous improvement at the Jacksonville plant.”
“From my perspective as JAX human resource manager, hiring veterans is about more than filling roles — it’s about building a workforce grounded in leadership, accountability, and long-term commitment,” she said. “As the home of Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune, Stanadyne’s Jacksonville plant is proud to employ veterans whose mission-driven mindset strengthens our culture, elevates safety and operational excellence, and supports sustainable success.”
